LiFicient addresses the challenges of wireless communication in industrial applications with limited energy budgets, where conventional radio-based connections often reach their limits. The project develops and commercializes the innovative Li-Fi TinySpot, enabling optical wireless data transmission at speeds of up to 20 Mbps while requiring ultra-low power consumption of only 5 mW. The TinySpot is specifically designed for energy- and space-efficient systems such as sensors, wearables, robots, and drones, providing a robust and interference-free alternative to conventional wireless standards.
Within the LiFicient project, a practice-oriented white paper and comprehensive marketing materials will be developed to increase the visibility of the technology in industry and attract new project partners. In addition, students will be actively involved in measurements and test setups to foster and develop regional talent.
Objectives
- Increase industrial visibility and promote the adoption of Li-Fi TinySpot technology
- Create and utilize high-quality marketing materials to generate qualified industrial leads
- Involve, train, and support students through laboratory projects and measurement activities
