The institutes within our Performance Center cover the entire spectrum of quantum technologies. Our focus is not limited to optimizing individual components; rather, we consistently focus on providing scalable platforms and manufacturing-oriented infrastructure.
Quantum Computing
- Wafer-based process and device development for qubits based on superconducting and spin-based systems, as well as ion traps
- Development of spatial light modulators for neutral-atom-based quantum computing
- Development of control units for photonic computing
- Development of qubit-level control and readout electronics for cryogenically cooled systems
- Research and validation of novel testing and measurement methods under cryogenic conditions
Quantum Communication
- Development of quantum key distribution (QKD) systems, including all required components, such as time taggers, SPADs, and key management systems (KMS)
- Operation of a cross-state, fiber-based testbed integrated into the European quantum communication infrastructure
- Development of quantum random number generators (QRNGs)
Quantum Sensing
- Integration of quantum materials (NV centers) into CMOS technology
In addition, we conduct research into enabling technologies such as multiphysics simulations (thermomechanical and electromagnetic) and materials modeling. By closely integrating technology development, system integration using heterogeneous integration and advanced packaging, and industrial applications, we create the conditions required to transfer quantum technologies from research into market-ready products.
